Nuvei Elevates Driver Payment Experience through ViaPlus Integration
ViaPlus, a global mobility firm and a subsidiary of VINCI Highways, has partnered with Canadian fintech company Nuvei Corporation to enhance payment experiences for consumers purchasing mobility services. This collaboration integrates ViaPlus' mobility back office, which processes and reconciles large transaction volumes, with Nuvei's extensive global acquiring and processing capabilities, facilitating a wide array of digital applications through numerous Alternative Payment Methods (APM) integrations.
Richard Arce, president and CEO of ViaPlus, commented on the initiative: “This partnership underscores the dedication of ViaPlus and VINCI Highways to improving the driver experience by providing secure and efficient payment solutions within the global mobility ecosystem.”
The integration of Nuvei’s payment technology platform with ViaPlus introduces over 700 new payment types to the ViaPlus system, creating a new digital payment network named ViaPlus Nexus.
ViaPlus consumers can now use various payment methods, including standard digital options like Apple Pay and popular local choices such as Brazil’s Pix, Peru’s Pago Efectivo, and Colombia’s Nequi. Additionally, the mobility company will incorporate China’s Alipay, a leading global digital wallet.
This collaboration offers customers broader accessibility, enabling cash payments through Nuvei’s retail payment network and enhancing the convenience of paperless transactions.
Philip Fayer, chair and CEO at Nuvei, added: “Our mission is to deepen connections betwebusinesses and their customers.
This partnership exemplifies the power of payment technology in achieving this goal. Allowing consumers to pay wherever, whenever, and however they prefer is essential to the modern digital experience.”
Nuvei Partners with Visa
This announcement follows Nuvei's recent collaboration with Visa, the global leader in digital payments, to introduce Visa Direct in Colombia.
Visa Direct, a VisaNet processing capability that facilitates near real-time funds delivery to financial accounts using card credentials, is now accessible to Colombian merchants through Nuvei’s comprehensive modular payments technology platform.
Visa Direct enables clients to support various use cases, including person-to-person (P2P) payments, funds disbursements, bill payments, and cross-border remittances directly to eligible debit or prepaid cards.
Through Visa Direct, Nuvei merchants can offer instant payout capabilities, with transactions processed in near real-time.
“Providing instant payouts via Visa Direct aligns with our strategy of offering top-tier payment solutions tailored to each market’s needs,” explained Fayer. “Colombia is among the fastest-growing e-commerce markets in Latin America, and we are proud to deliver innovative solutions that optimize payment flows, enhance user experiences, and ensure operational efficiency.”
